25 years of Oblivia: Oblivia’s haiku

To celebrate Oblivia’s 25th anniversary, we wrote a playful speech-poem in which twelve Oblivians were allowed to use as many words as the number of years they’ve spent with Oblivia – the result was shared at our 25-year celebrations in Kiasma.

Beginning begin
Brickwalls
deepsand, forests
wooden floors
shiny surfaces
Together, alone
Becoming worlds
ongoing thoughts
Anarchic trust
Do what you want
Stars
Moving, sounding
Brightness

Take a step
Two, five
A million
Where to? Don’t know
Movement, spaces
Sad, funny
Faces
Happening
People, friends
Partners in crime
Around
Go on, enjoy!
Then stop
Later

Distilled pluralism
A wind machine
A forest
Subtle shift
Change
Another story
asking
imagination
to unfold

Theater of Oblivia
Light as do-be-do
heartwarming
home
for
radical realities
an Odyssey

bonds, space, frame, structure,
is uninterrupted time
shared summer camp joy

In a haven for
kaleidoscopic motions
a turtle dances

Facing the unknown
Making jokes

warmness
care and love
pleasure

do what you saw,
please

Kindness
uncomplicated
and everyone
warm

radical ease
together

Silent turbulence
